I can´t wait to see you!!!!!!!!! I gave the info to Dad but next Sunday at 3pm your time we´ll be talking face to face! YAY.
Everyone is getting married and having babies. This stage in life is crazy.
Good companions or counselors are sometimes half the battle. That´s awesome that you´re seeing the fruits of your labor. I’ts exciting to hear about Bro. Peterson. Send them my congrats. We´re working on 2 other dads with wife and kids that are members but they are a little more hard-headed. Satan really likes to attack the Priesthood heads of families.
This week we had a huge stake activity– bazar style– with a ton of crafts that the sisters did to sell. Cultural dances and food. It was pretty cool and we had a lot of investigators show up. I included a picture of what one sister did with a few hard boiled eggs. I thought it was cute. Maybe I´ll try it someday. One thing I love about the culture here is that everyone loves to participate…especially in dances. Everyone from the youth, middle aged, to the old grandmas were dancing the cumbia hard core. It was hilarious. Adults in the US aren´t always willing to dance or embarrass themselves too much. Here they don´t care haha.
We have another baptism tomorrow of a little girl, 11 years old, named Darling. 🙂 I´m enjoying myself in this area and excited for the Salvadoranian Christmas food!
You guys are having snow day and I´m still getting burned haha. I recieved the package last Tuesday and I loved my goodies 🙂
I´d love to hear from the kids but I can´t promise that I´d always respond either so my heart isn´t totally broken. I love and miss them too!
Photos: We had to go back to Santa Ana for my companion´s doctors appointment so we took advantage of the opportunity and we visited our converts in Independencia (Hna. Alvarado served there too!!). This is us with Flor! Also the baptisms of Elias Zepeda (dad with his daughters) and Alfredo Moran (grandpa).
This is the best area and the best companion I´ve had in my mission! Not that my past areas and companions were bad but we are seeing so much success here due to the unity in our companionship I think. The work has never run smoother because Hna. Alvarado and I are on the same page with everything and our lessons are super awesome! We have one baptism already, 5 baptismal dates for this month, and 9 progressing investigators. Plus we´re always traveling in order to help out the other sisters in other areas. President Spjut even had us train the other leaders in the mission and share about how we´re having this success. My first leaders meeting we had to teach…nerve racking but it went well I think. So basically I´m having a great time right now. I hope all the rest of my mission is like this (probably not because Hna. Alvarado will have changes this 28th of december). You´ll be getting a lot of pictures of baptisms in these coming weeks!
I haven´t recieved any packages. When I say chilly, I mean like 55 degrees haha. But I was in the mountains for 2 days this week and in the night it was probably like 35 degrees. I needed my jacket to be comfortable. It was nostalgic. I miss the snow but I´m also excited to see how the Salvadoranians do Christmas.
I want to just sit down and talk to you too! This christmas!! Yay! right down all the things you need to tell me so you don´t forget 🙂
Love you all!!
